My Montana fly fishing photos
June 16th, 2010
My Montana fly fishing photos. I’ve been out here in Missoula for months now and having a blast! These are some trout fishing pictures of various rivers and creeks I have explored so far. Lot’s of rain lately making most of the Missoula are rivers blown out now for a few weeks. The first pictures are of the mighty Beaverhead, one of the most popular tailwaters outside of Dillon. Though the weather was poor, we managed to land some PIGS! All our fish this day were in the 17-22″ range, all took a size 20 scud and nothing else. Talk about finessing! 5x isn’t much for a 20″ trout.
Next location we hit up was the West fork of the Bitterroot. Some awesome wade fishing if you come out here and dont have a boat. We completed a slam for this water which includes brook, brown, rainbow, cut bow, and cutthroats in two hours with the majority being in the 16-20″ range.

Hope you guys enjoy. I will be posting more in the near future. Salmon flies are just getting ready to go off so I hope to be posting some reports on some knock your shoes off dry fly fishing. Guys now is the time to start coming out here. It’s bubbling right now and about to go! If you do happen to be out in the Missoula area please drop me a line on here or stop by the Grizzly Hackle fly shop and see me. I love seeing some Ga folks out here.
