I am against canned hunts
September 2nd, 2010

I am not vegan or anything like that, but I am against killing game (canned hunts) just for the sake of killing them. I come from a long line of hunters in my family, but I recently heard my own father and brother purchased a deer from a company that lets the animal loose on a fenced property so that they can be hunted later. The ranch property owners actually feed the Deer/Buck and wait until it matures to a certain or “trophy deer” size later to be hunted by my father or brother!
Come on what kind of hunting is that? That has nothing to do with fair-chase or what most hunters and people would think as part of the hunting tradition. I though hunting was about preparation, understanding the woods and environment, how to harvest your game, and most important the thrill of the hunt in an all natural surrounding?
What’s has our tradition and world come too?
