My pig hunting weekend I was super pumped to shoot some pigs and  right when we got there it was 6:00 and went straight to the stand. I got up in the tree stand and waited for a while and my feeder goes off and no corn. Scratching my head at this point wondering what is going on.  I got down and went to checked the feeder and it was full. So tore it all apart to find part of a feed sack stuffed up in there. Get it out and grab my card out of my camera to find something I wasn’t to happy about. And i have no clue how to go by with it. Check out the times in the photos.

Finally got the Wifey into Hunting and been married now for eight years I finally got her out to the lease to go and forgot to bring my phone to get some hunting pictures of the actual hunt but I took some of her practicing. Makes me proud, she was a trooper never wanted to give up. After sitting a while she wanted to try to stalk one up. We never did see anything:(, maybe next time.

Savage 17HMR VS Groundhog recently purchased Savage 17HMR out for a spin this morning and was able to connect on my first groundhog. I wish I had some great story about a 200+ yard shot but actually I crept up to a partial fence row 20 yards from an abandoned farm house and saw #1 sitting at the entrance to his burrow and dropped him. Went up took pictures and walked towards the back of the house to pitch him in the weeds and saw #2 scurry to into an outbuilding but leaving a portion of it’s self exposed. Then I dialed the scope down and the 1st shot it was still twitching and the 2nd shot rolled it over on it’s back. From nothing to a double in a matter of minutes.

I think this is a testament to how quite the 17hmr is.

I have been building my first new kayak for awhile now and the first coat of varnish on it this afternoon so it won’t be long before she gets her first test paddle. This one is 16′5″ and weighs 37 pounds. Tell me what you think?

I’ve been seeing a lot of destructive wild hog activity around the farm lately, and I have wanted get one with my AR (first rifle kill ever!?!)… Dropped in his tracks… Nice to not worry about blood trails and long recoveries! Came in around 9:30.
