Building my own hunting blind from a shipping crate on location and in place. It will be a 6 ft. base for it in the coming weeks. I’d like to put the base together here at the house and then take it to the field to put under the blind. I should have measured the blind before I left the lease this weekend, but I forgot.

If you have one of these blinds handy, what are the measurements of the base (length and width)?

Summer Deer Cam Pictures. I’m off to a slow start this summer and was happy to get these pics.

Hunter to the fawn rescue. I tried to get close to try to free it but the little thing would go crazy, start screaming so I’d back off. My wife, the dog and myself go for a ride around our place and up and down the private road we live on in the evenings. While on that ride yesterday evening I came upon this sight. I didn’t know how close mama might be and I’ve seen how protective they can be! I finally got my knife and cut the hide where it was stuck to the barb on the fence. There was not must hair left on the fence so the wound should be small. The little thing took off and hopefully hooked up with mama. At least it wasn’t completely easy pickins’ for a predator. Called the game warden and he told me to put it down and keep the meat if I wanted to. I don’t mind doing that but really didn’t want to so now she is free.

My Snapping Turtle neighbor. This turtle was in my yard Tuesday morning and came back Wednesday to lay eggs. I don’t know if she laid any or not, when she left the hole was covered over completely.

More Deer Cam Pictures. He hasn’t changed much since last year so my guess is he’s an older Buck and this nice buck  came to this salt block location a few times last year. The bucks should be 75% done growing now so I don’t expect this one to be much over 130-135.

My 2009 deer mounts finally got around to posting these up and the first one is from Ohio opening morning of gun season. Tell me what you think.
