Interesting hunting blog that is not afraid to cover both sides of an argument about hunting.. Anyway, are there alternatives to hunting and killing when it comes to deer population control? In what ways can hunting be cruel? What rights do you believe wild animals to have? Yes, a different spin on the subject..
Better yet: How about an argument against encouraging hunting to control deer populations?- I’ll take this side of the debate. Flaming is considered a loss.
Keyboard warrior-

No. That is what they are there for and part of the food chain. Hunting is not cruel; it is natural. Look at the way animals treat each other. If you watch Disney movies, they try to depict humans as ruthless and cruel and the animals as peacefully coexisting saints. Nothing could be further from the truth. Watch National Geographic to see the unvarnished, harsh brutality of nature. Wild animals have no rights, but we have a responsibility to treat them humanely. Don’t confuse rights with responsibilities
More detail on population Control:
The only alternative is to allow the excess animals to slowly starve to death, unless the overpopulation leads to an epidemic disease first, which will kill nearly all of them. Again, animals do not have rights. Rights are of two types – inalienable and legislated. Animals have neither. Humans do have a responsibility not to abuse animals, forests, air, water, and other natural resources. Which is one strong argument for culling herds to levels where the animals can live normal, healthy lives.
