Cold weather hunting clothes?
Some of the users here might think this question is a bit too early, but heck, anything to do with hunting is always alright to ask. I’ll be deer hunting in Southern Ohio this fall and looking for a set of hunting clothes for the bitter cold that we can get in the fall, it can range from 50-20 or less degrees and want to definitely prepare for the lower temperatures. I’ve learned my lesson last year and was so cold I don’t ever want to go through that AGAIN. I am an avid bow hunter, so anything bulky is out of consideration and my budget is between 200-300$ range.
Thanks All for any advice or a direction to go.

Always dress in wool and dress in layers. Why wool is durable, quiet, blocks wind well, and warm, even when wet. That said, LL Bean lists wool pants for around $120 and wool shirts for around $65. Combine that with wool socks, good boots, a decent coat (even if its not wool), a stocking/knit hat (again wool hats work well), and good gloves and you should be relatively warm.
Goretex with a thinsulate lining is the modern, high-tech standard. Its waterproof (or as close as you can come), breathable, durable, and warm. Its also very expensive.
Fleece is reasonably durable, quiet, warm (even when wet), dries quickly, and light-weight but it doesn’t block wind worth a damn. If you layer it under something that blocks the wind, it does well enough. Even if you opt for something else, taking a hooded fleece coat along might be a good choice if you get a touch chilly and want to add another layer since its light-weight.
The main point is to always dress in layers so you can add or remove layers depending on the weather you’re in. Always watch to make sure you never get to warm and start to sweat and why I never wear Down.
Hope this helps
